Our Story
First Evangelical Church (FEC) began in 1965 as a ministry to students from the Philippines and Taiwan. Quickly outgrowing the founding Pastor’s living room where the church first started and the small church building in the Silver Lake area that they had moved to, the congregation relocated to the city of Glendale, CA and dedicated our current church site in March 1974.
With God’s blessing over the years, we have been able to plant new churches throughout the greater Los Angeles area, FEC San Gabriel Valley (1986), FEC Cerritos (1988), FEC Diamond Bar in (1999), FEC Arcadia in (2001), and Epicentre (2003, Pasadena) all of which are now independent and self-supporting.
We are a founding member of the First Evangelical Church Association (FECA) which was formed in 1997 with the purpose of furthering the work of member churches in church planting, missions, spiritual formation, and social concern. To date, this expanded work has included planting churches in St. Petersburg, Russia, Serbia, India and East Asia.
Our Church Today
Today, FEC Glendale is a diverse church family with three congregations with every life-stage represented, and an average weekly Sunday attendance of approximately 400. Our English Congregation is our largest, followed by our Mandarin Congregation, and our Cantonese Congregation. We also offer a separate Youth Service for students in grades six through twelve, and a Children’s Ministry caring for kids from as early as 6-months in age through 5th grade.
FEC Glendale is a non-denominational evangelical Christian church. Our detailed statement of faith can be viewed on our website here.
